Clary Sage Essential Oil
Clary Sage has a euphoric effect that makes it a useful oil for treating work-related tension and fatigue. The benefits of this oil have been recognised since the birth of Christ. It was one of the Anglo Saxons' nine sacred herbs and by the 16th century it was widely grown and used as a therapeutic tonic. Avoid in pregnancy.
Source: Salvia sclarea is grown for oil in Morocco, England, France and throughout the Mediterranean and Eastern Europe.
Extraction: Clary Sage essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering tops and leaves of Salvia sclarea.
Aroma: Clary Sage essential oil has a green, balsamic, sweet and nutty scent.
Uses: Massage, baths, may be added to base emollients and vaporisation.
Blends well with: Bay, Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Cedarwood, Chamomile, Coriander, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon Balm, Lime, Mandarin, Patchouli, Petitgrain, Pine, Rose, Sandalwood, Tea Tree.
Caution: Avoid using Clary Sage essential oil during pregnancy and avoid alcohol after use.
